The Story Behind Grip Peddler
Kinesiology - the study of the mechanics of human movement.
Ergonomics - the fitting of design's to people's bodies, behavior, and expectations.
I attended my first NAMM show in 1999. I had nothing but a backpack and a few prototypes. I walked around the show and was able to give a few of my samples to some incredible drummers: Kenny Aronoff, Dave Abbruzzese, Ricky Lawson, Zoro, Peter Erskine, John Molo, and Chad Sexton. I introduced myself and asked if they would give me some feedback. All of them were open to testing out the product and were all very receptive. About 6 months later I had heard back from all of them and they all had great things to say about the product. They really felt that it made a difference in their playing and that it was a product that would benefit the drumming community.
The first trade show where we actually had a booth was PASIC 1999 in Columbus, OH. Ever since, we have continued to exhibit at the PASIC and NAMM shows. We have been and will continue to be a grass-roots company, drummers working to make products that help and make playing drums enjoyable. We are slowly spreading the word and are blessed to have the best drummers from every genre of music endorsing the product. It is mind boggling from my perspective, because our endorsees are all my idols and the legend's that I grew up reading about and listening to. They are all wonderful musicians and are some of the nicest people I have ever met.
We have continually improved and come up with new designs and better pads which we have patents filed and pending. The FunkBump is one of our latest creations that has become one of our best sellers and is changing the way people play drums. Players like Harvey Mason, Doane Perry, Carter Beauford, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Paul Wertico, and Zoro to name a few, have become avid users of the FunkBump and feel that it has helped them find the natural "sweet spot" of the pedal. It also provides more control when feathering the bass drum and extra leverage when laying into the bass drum. After using Grip Peddler for a while, all of our endorsees and customers have found it very difficult to play drums without it.
We are committed to making innovative and beneficial products for the drumming community. We are drummer's making the best products we can to fulfill the needs of every drummer and to make drumming more enjoyable and comfortable. Please stay tuned for more Grip Peddler products coming your way......
